Overview

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Designer to support the design, documentation, and coordination of low-voltage systems for commercial, institutional, and enterprise projects. The ideal candidate has experience in structured cabling, security, audio-visual, and communication systems design within a multidisciplinary engineering or consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and document low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, data networks, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, audio-visual, and unified communication systems.

  • Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for low-voltage systems in coordination with project teams.

  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and architectural teams to ensure integration of low-voltage systems into overall building infrastructure.

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to validate system requirements and infrastructure needs.

  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and system handover.

  • Review and specify vendor products and solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and budgets.

  • Maintain and update design standards, templates, and best practices for low-voltage systems.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system design issues during design, installation, and operational phases.

  • Stay current with emerging low-voltage technologies, industry standards, and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3–7+ years of experience designing low-voltage systems in MEP, AV, or ICT environments.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), network protocols, and low-voltage system design.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schematics, and technical specifications.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and AV systems.

  • Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, CTS, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-level networks, mission-critical environments, or data centers.

  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and standards (LEED, WELL) is a plus.
