Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Designer to join our MEP and consulting design team. The ideal candidate will develop and coordinate low-voltage system designs, including structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, audio-visual, and communication systems, ensuring high-quality and code-compliant solutions for commercial, institutional, and enterprise projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design and document low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, data networks, security, access control, CCTV, audio-visual, and unified communication systems.
Produce accurate drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
Coordinate low-voltage designs with electrical, mechanical, and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
Conduct site surveys and field assessments to verify system requirements and infrastructure conditions.
Assist in the preparation of construction documents, submittals, and technical specifications.
Support project teams during construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring design intent is realized.
Maintain and enforce design standards, templates, and best practices for low-voltage systems.
Stay up-to-date on industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage system design.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2–5+ years of experience designing low-voltage systems in MEP, AV, or ICT consulting environments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design/BIM software.
Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), low-voltage system design, and building codes.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schematics, and technical specifications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and AV systems.
Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, CTS, or equivalent.
Familiarity with enterprise networks, data centers, or mission-critical environments.
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and standards (LEED, WELL) is a plus.
