Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in HVAC and mechanical system design, particularly within mission-critical environments such as data centers, high-tech facilities, and large commercial buildings. This role involves leading design efforts, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for mission-critical, commercial, and industrial projects.

  • Develop engineering calculations, system layouts, equipment selection, and specifications.

  • Prepare and review detailed construction documents, including drawings and technical reports.

  • Collaborate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of building systems.

  • Interface regularly with clients to understand project goals, present design solutions, and provide technical guidance.

  • Oversee QA/QC of mechanical designs and support continuous improvement of engineering standards.

  • Participate in field investigations, site surveys, and construction administration activities (remote support with occasional travel as needed).

  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support commissioning activities.

  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.

  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE, IMC, NFPA, IECC, and local building requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.

  • 8–15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally with mission-critical or data center project experience.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain reciprocity.

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).

  • Strong understanding of cooling systems, chilled water plants, air handling equipment, and energy efficiency strategies.

  • Ability to manage multiple remote projects and collaborate effectively in a distributed work environment.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing mechanical systems for hyperscale or enterprise-grade data centers.

  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, CFD analysis, or controls optimization.

  • LEED AP, WELL AP, or other sustainability credentials.

What We Offer
  • Fully remote role with flexible work arrangements.

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge, mission-critical and high-performance building projects.

  • A collaborative environment focused on innovation, quality, and professional growth.
