Overview
We are seeking a skilled AV Field Engineer to install, commission, and maintain audiovisual systems for commercial, enterprise, and institutional clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AV equipment, troubleshooting, and system integration, and thrives in a field-based role supporting high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and commission AV systems, including video conferencing, digital signage, control systems, audio systems, and related equipment.
Perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to guide installation and system setup.
Test, calibrate, and verify AV system functionality, including audio levels, video displays, and control interfaces.
Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users on system operation and features.
Document installation and service activities, including service reports, punch lists, and as-built records.
Follow industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols during installation and service work.
Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment in field-ready condition.
Qualifications
2–5+ years of field experience in AV system installation, integration, or support.
Strong knowledge of AV technologies, including DSPs, video conferencing, displays, speakers, and control systems.
Proficiency with AV testing and measurement tools (signal analyzers, audio meters, calibration equipment).
Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and travel to client sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AV-over-IP, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, or similar AV systems.
CTS or CTS-D certification.
Familiarity with low-voltage cabling standards and structured cabling infrastructure.
Experience working in corporate, higher-education, or mission-critical AV environments.
