Overview

We are seeking a skilled AV Field Engineer to install, commission, and maintain audiovisual systems for commercial, enterprise, and institutional clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AV equipment, troubleshooting, and system integration, and thrives in a field-based role supporting high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and commission AV systems, including video conferencing, digital signage, control systems, audio systems, and related equipment.

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of AV systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to guide installation and system setup.

  • Test, calibrate, and verify AV system functionality, including audio levels, video displays, and control interfaces.

  • Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users on system operation and features.

  • Document installation and service activities, including service reports, punch lists, and as-built records.

  • Follow industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols during installation and service work.

  • Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment in field-ready condition.

Qualifications
  • 2–5+ years of field experience in AV system installation, integration, or support.

  • Strong knowledge of AV technologies, including DSPs, video conferencing, displays, speakers, and control systems.

  • Proficiency with AV testing and measurement tools (signal analyzers, audio meters, calibration equipment).

  • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AV-over-IP, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, or similar AV systems.

  • CTS or CTS-D certification.

  • Familiarity with low-voltage cabling standards and structured cabling infrastructure.

  • Experience working in corporate, higher-education, or mission-critical AV environments.
